Ellie
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as a mixture between glamorous, early 2000s style but also add in some grandma sweaters, pastels, anything a cute quaint old lady would wear. Like a cat sweater that’s purple, I would choose that. Also anything glamorous that’s an ode to the early 2000s. It’s kind of a mix but its very very girly, very feminine.

Do you have any favorite pieces you’ve thrifted?
Definitely one of my top pieces is the pastel lavender sweater with the little collar and a white cat. When I wear it, I feel like myself, so Ellie, I feel so me. Honestly this one too, I just throw it over everything cos I like mixing pastels. I like wearing light green and pink, or light blue and pink together. And this is just something I throw over and it has the little embroidery and things on it.
So another one of my favorite pieces is this bodysuit top with angels on it, its pastel purple and blue, its spaghetti strap but it also has lettuce hem so its really fun. And then I would also say, an embroiled vest, I throw it over a cardigan and it just adds so much.

When did you start thrifting?
I always was interested in thrifting in high school, but I didn’t start really thrifting most of my clothes until senior year of high school and I remember when Covid hit and I was just sitting at home and I was like okay I need to revamp my style. I’ve always had this image in my mind of what I want to wear but I just never did. So I remember going through all my clothes, getting rid of them and then thrifting all the time and it was kind of a creative outlet for me to put outfits together at home when I was just doing online school. I really got into it, I would say 2020.
What inspires your style?
You go to a thrift store, which section do you go for first?
I’m gonna think about the salvation army that I go to by my house. The first thing I always look at is the crewneck section because once again that’s where I find all my little pastel grandma sweaters, my pinks and blues. And then I also like the little boys t shirt section, its such a stark contrast from the sweater section, because I can find the funniest little baby tees in the little boys section; I have this black baby tee with Paul frank on it. It’s very y2k, literally got it for a dollar at savers from the little boys section, it’s probably meant for a third grade boy. But it’s giving Megan Fox wearing her son’s t shirts or something. I love a baby tee!
Any trends at the moment that you hate?
Okay here’s the thing, I’m going to hate this trend for myself, not for anyone else. But what I would hate to wear that I feel like is trending is the linen, all white or all neutral colors. I just can’t stand the Billabong look. I think other people look beautiful in it and I think its great if its their style but me personally, I would be miserable if I had to wear the cream linen pants and a linen shirt. It’s just so not me. I don’t feel like myself if I don’t wear some color, some pastel! So I feel like that is what’s trending right now that I just don’t like on myself

What's your favorite trend at the moment?
I do love how funny t-shirts are trending right now! Like you’ll thrift a funny dad t-shirt or a grandpa t-shirt, something that an old grandpa would wear, no young people are wearing cos its funny. I like it when there’s some humor involved and it’s also kind of cute. I don’t know like a dad shirt, it’s kind of vintage.
