How would you describe your style?
My style has gotten more minimalistic, a little more quiet so to speak. It’s not too loud, not too much graphics. I know for vintage clothing, its typically a lot of graphics, prints, loudness, which I do like in its time and place. But for me, I think that I”m trying to dress in a way that draws attention to detail with the cuts and the fits. I think we underestimate how much something fits rather than what it is. The fit can make or break a piece, I think that’s kind of what I like. When I pick out what I’m going to wear, I think about ‘am I going to be comfortable?’ & ‘does it look good’!

What inspired you to start thrifting?
I was probably around 16 when I started thrifting, my friend kind of inspired me to start thrifting. I think I just saw the variety of pieces available in thrift stores. I thrifted since I was a kid but with different motivations. When you thrift as a kid with your parents, it was more of a need, just the fact that you can find really good things at a low price. But as I grew older, around seventeen or eighteen, I realize there’s a lot of different styles and cuts than was available. Around that time, H&M and a lot of fast fashion brands were really popping off. So I realize there was an alternative route for what fashion can look like.

Tell me about depop
So I’ll first talk about how I got on Depop: I was kind of reluctant to get on Depop for some reason because I realized it was more thrifted and used stuff. The items I was picking out at the thrift store, I didn’t really think about selling on Depop. I primarily thought of Ebay, that’s where I got into the reselling world. Later I realized Depop was a sect of reselling that geared more towards younger audiences like myself. I thought about it and then started listing items. There are other reselling sects like Mercuri but I thought Depop was good. People started buying from my shop and I realized there was a lot more traffic and movement on Depop compared to Ebay. It is easy to get lost on Ebay because there is just so much on there. Depop is an online reselling platform, geared towards younger people. It is a lot more trendy and it is a lot more for people looking to try out new styles. There’s a lot of buyers, a lot more people looking through Depop, not more than selling, but there’s lot more intentionality and it makes it easier to network with sellers.
What's your favorite trend at the moment?
One trend that I like is Gorpcore fashion because it focuses on function and practical clothing. Some brands that I am currently a fan of are vintage Patagonia and North Face. Also anything gortex is a plus!

Any trends at the moment that you hate?
One trend that I am not a fan of is loud nascar graphics, I appreciate the arts and design but at its core it’s just speaks that you like vintage but nothing else. No one really watched NASCAR sorry.
