Versatility in Taylor Swift’s Media:

Creating a functional website without becoming overwhelming can be tough. Sometimes color schemes, large amounts of information, or even too many headers can cause a headache. One of my favorite sites by far has been created for an artist is Taylor Swift’s. Her team has captured a website that allows fans to pre order her new music, purchase upcoming concert tickets, and find her much anticipated merch drops.

Upon first appearances Taylor’s media team, Taylor Nation has created a website with the star’s newest drop 1989 being the header. You can scroll down to access the new merch/preorder. From there the website has links to her Taylor Swift The Eras Tour film that will encompass the entire past year of touring fans can re-experience.

After that you can find her newest non re-release album, Midnights, that you can still order merch from. At the very bottom of the site, you can sign up to receive updates of any upcoming releases/merch drops/etc. This comes in handy for those who want to keep tabs on the on coming events Taylor Swift seems to be involved in.

When the website is opened on an iPad or computer the site shows the headers for other locations you can go to for easier access. On iPhones there isn’t a header but instead it’s a three bar button you can select and from there you see the same options.

For example when you select Merch, it leads you to a new location which strictly has all of her merch from every album she has released. As shown below you can see the easy accessibility to clicking each era. I really enjoy the layout Taylor Nation has given for every single media being produced. It’s easily accessible, clean, while still having fun with colors and photos. There isn’t too much information that the reader is being left overwhelmed. But rather the fans can know exactly where everything is and where the site is taking them.

The website lists all of their terms and conditions, policies and another way to add your email into their promotion list. The bottom shows that this is the latest issue, 2023 Taylor Swift LLC.

Overall I took a lot of inspiration from Taylor’s website. It allowed me to really see how certain creators try to grab the attention of this audience. I might not have as much information, links, or even production value, BUT the idea of the color schemes and style choices were something I could get on board with.
